Love your body
Apple bottom, hourglass, melon chest, bean pole, and the list can go on and on. One woman’s disaster of a body is another woman’s dream. Men are also sucked into this but in a slightly different way. What women want smaller they want bigger. People are usually very self conscious about their body and how they look over all. The business of vanity is a multi-billion dollar empire that is feeding off of the insecurity of the masses.
When you open a magazine, look at the dolls girls play with, or just check out other girls around town, the criticism begins. What is it that makes you feel that the body you have is not as beautiful as theirs? Do you realize that others look at you and want what you have in one way or another. The competition that is felt over getting the perfect body is one that will rage on forever but you have the choice to get out of the game you can’t win.
Society uses a certain body type to show off fashion and sell products. The thin, waifish, pseudo-athletic body types abound in all the media. You can’t miss it and you can’t ignore it. You can stop judging yourself by it. Only until women begin to love their body on an individual basis will anyone stop and pay attention that the body types portrayed in media are not only unhealthy but impossible to get. The models in magazines would probably also love to have the body that is featured, but often it is not their own. Pictures and commercials are highly doctored to look a certain way. Skin, hair, eyes, hips, noses, fingers, and toes are altered. Every tiny aspect that you may investigate can be changed and is often not real.
Look in the mirror. Check out your body. Believe it or not no matter your body type there is someone out there that thinks it is amazing and sexy! Your body is not who you are. If someone rejects you for your body then you are lucky!! That person would have been a toxic person in your life that would only serve to make you miserable and more self-conscious. The person that matters is you. Go to a place in your mind where the fake, manufactured bodies of the media are long gone.
Embrace how you look. Be empowered to have a body that works. If you want to get into shape and have a healthy figure, good for you! Get up and work out. There are people who die or lose everything in search of the unattainable. Embrace and love your body. It is unique and beautiful. Now it’s time to convince yourself of that!
